COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This is a 4-8 hour workshop and includes theoretical and practical instruction for Hand/Foot Reflexology

Our General Interest Reflexology Workshop are designed for individuals who are:

• contemplating to become Certified Hand Reflexologist or Foot Reflexologist or
• for individuals who want to learn how to safely use Reflexology for home and personal use ONLY.

In this course, you will learn about the History, Theory, Principals and Application of Reflexology and learn the techniques of performing a complete Hand/Foot Reflexology session.   You will be introduced to basic Anatomy & Physiology, Pathology, Benefits, Precautions and Contra-Indications, as these relate to these Reflexology Workshops. The course is divided into 2, (½) day workshops (½ day for the feet and ½ day for the hands). They may be taken together as a FULL course or individually. Courses are available in Toronto, GTA and Ontario.

PREREQUISITE(S)

Must be 18 years of age or older.   NO prior knowledge or experience is required. Introduction To Reflexology THE FOOT WORKSHOP & THE HAND WOKSHOP are Recommended as a Pre-Requisite for Full Certificate Course.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS

For the Foot Reflexology Course you may need a zero gravity chair and will need to bring this to class with you. Please check with us beforehand, we may have extra’s for you to borrow.

COURSE OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to demonstrate an understanding in:

1. Understanding the principles of Reflexology
2. Reading the map of the body on the hand/foot or both
3. Will have developed basic understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Reflexologist
4. Be able to conduct a hand/foot examination
5. Knowing how to stimulate the referral areas of reflexes on the hand/foot for a safe and effective therapeutic treatment to be used for their personal use and enjoyment ONLY
6. Recognize the importance and relevance of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology
7. Gained an understanding about the Benefits, Precautions and Contraindications
8. Will have gained knowledge about government health, safety and sanitation standards, registration standards, laws and regulations that apply to Reflexology profession
9. Recognizing  and always working within the limits and scope of their level expertise and profession as relevant
10. Engaging at all times in a code of conduct beneficial to their clients and profession as relevant

COMPLETION OF THIS WORKSHOP DOES NOT MAKE YOU A REFLEXOLOGIST.

TO WORK ON CLIENTS FULL CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.

To get Certified in BOTH Foot & Hand Reflexology;

You need to complete either the Foot or Hand Program at the 198-100 Level and

then complete the Alternate Extremity Program at the 70-200 Level
