COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a 70.5 hour course and includes theoretical and practical instruction. The course is designed for individuals who are already Certified Hand/Foot Reflexologist who want to obtain additional training and certification in the complementary extremity of either the Hand/Foot. In this course, you will learn about the history, theory, principals and application of Reflexology and learn the techniques of performing a complete Hand/Foot Reflexology session on clients. For the Foot Reflexology Course you will need a zero gravity chair and will need to bring this too class.
*Minimum passing mark on both the Written and Practical Exams is 80% in each
*Students have 3 months to complete the Written Exam
*Students have 6 months to complete Case Studies and Practical Exam
(dates are based on start date of the In Class/Correspondence/On Line portion of the program)
COURSE MATERIALS -
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in:
1. Understanding and being able to explain the principles of Reflexology
2. Reading the map of the body on the hand/foot
3. Knowing why and how and to conduct a client consultation, assessment and hand/foot examination
4. Knowing how to stimulate the referral areas of reflexes on the hand/foot for a safe and effective therapeutic treatment and be able to perform a complete Hand/Foot Reflexology session on clients
5. Demonstrate acquired knowledge and understanding of how anatomy, physiology and pathology apply to Reflexology
6. Differentiating how Reflexology applies to special groups, recognize when to “refer a client out” and when to modify sessions to accommodate special groups
7. Knowing what government health, safety and sanitation standards, registration standards, laws and regulations apply to their profession
8. Recognizing and always working within the limits and scope of their level expertise and profession
9. Engaging at all times in a code of conduct beneficial to their clients and profession
